Just checking in.

I really don't have anything exciting to say. I need to live a little so I'll have something to blog about!

Haha! I forgot I had started a blog. That's not good. I mean to post something at least a couple of times a week. I have had an okay day. I've done my laundry, fed the cats, gave them fresh water and cleaned the litter box. Oh what an exciting life I lead! Next up I plan to spend hours goofing off on the computer.

I read a lot and I love discussing books. I got a Kindle a couple of years ago and I have limited myself (mostly) to downloading free content. Some of it is quite awful but I have read some really good books that didn't cost me anything. And frankly, even the bad stuff isn't all bad and you have to admire the author for being able to get a book published. Some books I have downloaded that are good include:

That's just a starting list.  You can also download for free a lot of older books, classic books. I have enjoyed rereading Edith Wharton's books. I love The Age of Innocence and really really love The House of Mirth. If anyone is actually reading this blog I would love to have books recommended to me that I might not have read.

Hello there! My name is Candice and I have decided to join the world of blogging. I'm not quite sure what I'll be focusing most on so right now I think it will be a mishmash of general things until I get it all together. Today is 12.14.12 and it is a pretty bad day because there was another mass shooting, this time at a school in Connecticut. I've no idea how anyone could shoot kids, none at all.
